           Is slow at a walking pace because the dance is slow and stately

The rhythm is a minim followed by two crotchets

 

Galliard is in ĺ time

              Itís fast

              To do the dance you do high jumps, and kicks in the air. Itís lively and syncopated like the music. It has a dotted, jumpy offbeat rhythm, and the dance is similar.
