Heroes of Pan

Andy Narell

Andy Narell was born in New York. He learnt Pan from Ellie Manette, after his father asked the steel pan innovator to set up a project in the city to help young people with nothing to do. He has become a great performer writer and arranger. He has worked with many young bands, and plays both on his own, and in Sakesho, De Long Time Band, and in Calypsociation  who played the album The Passage - a fascinating and brilliant album that features him as a soloist on Double seconds, composer, and bandleader - and soloists on brass instruments
